People usually associate Disney with warm-hearted family fun and good morals. But amongst the princesses and magical critters lies an entire gallery of rogues committing some of the worst crimes known to man.
These villains typically face some kind of justice, but what if they were to stand trial in Texas? How long would they receive in prison – and how many of them would face the death penalty? We decided to find out...
The Wicked Stepmother’s crimes pale in comparison to some of the other Disney villains but she’s still facing time in the big house.
Her rap sheet includes child cruelty, false imprisonment and destruction of property, although her lack of force in those crimes means she’s likely to face a lighter sentence. Still, she’ll have to do her own cleaning in the clink.
With a name like that, Cruella was never likely to be a saint.
She’d likely serve time for cruelty to animals but the bulk of her sentence is a third degree grand theft charge for stealing all of those dogs. On top of that, Ms. De Vil would receive a hefty fine.
Desire makes a man do crazy things, including breaking into the castle of a literal beast and trying to kill him.
Despite his charm, a jury is unlikely to show Gaston any mercy and he’d likely be convicted of a whole host of felonies... although we imagine having to watch the Beast and Belle living happily ever after is the greatest punishment of all.
Ursula committed the majority of her crimes in international waters but we’ll make a special exception in this instance. As well as attempting to murder Eric, Ursula accidentally murders her minions Flotsam and Jetsam.
Her attempt to overthrow Triton would likely see her become the first person convicted of treason in the US since the Second World War too.
You wait 70 years for a treason conviction then two come along at once!
Prince John’s crimes against the kingdom are the least of his worries though, with his tripling of taxes and imprisonment of those who can’t pay likely to see him convicted of corruption or abuse of power.
Vanity isn’t a crime but attempting to kill 8 separate people certainly is. Assuming the Evil Queen is charged for each of those attempted murders and convicted of abuse of power too, she’s probably going to spend the rest of her days gazing into the bathroom mirror in her cell.
The Grand Vizier had designs on becoming the Sultan, but he’ll have to settle for king of the prison yard instead.
Jafar’s crimes include attempted murder, abuse of power and theft. His greatest crime, however, is kidnapping people using the power of magic – a conviction that’ll see him spend the rest of his life behind bars.
No-one can escape the long arm of the law, not even the King of the Underworld.
Hades’ rap sheet is surprisingly similar to Jafar’s so he’d likely face a similar amount of time in prison. Let’s hope they keep them in separate cells, huh?
Scar committed a lot of crimes in The Lion King, but none quite as grave as murdering his brother.
Texas obviously doesn’t have a king, so we’ve charged Scar based on the closest public figure – the President. If found guilty of assassination, Scar would likely be sentenced to death by lethal injection.
As a landlocked state, Texas doesn’t have a grand history of convictions against pirates. But should Hook stand trial here, laws from other states suggest he’d face life in prison.
His killings are more serious, however, and Hook would likely face time on death row before execution by lethal injection.
