Juxtaposse was awarded 'Best New Original Band' at the 2007 Buffalo Music Awards. They are one of three finalists for their song 'Rebels' in the 'John Lennon Song Writing Contest' in the world category. They won the '2007 Battle of the Bands' at the University of Buffalo last spring. Juxtaposse has opened for Jason Mraz, Guster, Finger Eleven, The Great Train Robbery, Big Leg Emma, The Roots and The Trews. Juxtaposse just recently went to the finals at Toronto's 2007 Indieweek Festival and was the featured band on IndieSolo 11/9/07. They have also been featured before the Buffalo Sabres Hockey playoff games in the 'Party at the Plaza' in front of thousands of people. They were chosen to perform at the 'Art is Music' festival, sponsored by the Goo Goo Dolls this summer. Cory Martin and Grant Michaels have been writing and playing together since junior high school. Juxtaposse was born over five years ago and has evolved ever since. Not until the addition of Luke Bluman on drums/percussion, Brad Lee Robbins on bass and Zach Craig on sax did it feel complete. They are a dedicated group of musicians who not only care about pushing their music out to the masses but also try to give back to their community. They have been involved in many charity events as part of the 'Buffalo Bands for the Homeless', raising awareness and funds for Compass House and other worthy causes. With the completion of their first CD, they are eager to get back in their studio, JuxMusic Studios and start the process all over again.
